    They left out the part where it blows up.
    Oh, this vid is only 2:46. FICHTs don’t blow up until 3:54.

    Wow, sounds like you had a bit of work on your hands. Also a bit of luck as well. So you have not had any issues with the motor? How often do you take it out?

    Hey thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I have seen and read some of the issues others have had with Ficht injection Evinrudes. I have (knock on wood) been extremely happy with mine…
    I think I’m going to try the 93 octane and Marvels mystery oil 1st… LOL ;O

  5. baitwormII says:

    if you can fill it up with 93octane or higher and a bottle of marvels mystery oil, that may help.

    . dealer told me it wouldnt work and that it needs a computer analysis or it would not work, it did. soak them in the gallon can of carb. cleaner from parts store thats what we used for the fuel pump.

    take thm apart in a closed in area where it is clean. the springs will pop out and a small ball bearing will shoot out, promise you that! careful with the o-rings, couldnt find any exact ones like them ANYWHERE. reuse the orings. cleaned all the buildup on them and put it all back to it fired right up.

    This boat was sitting up for 7yrs with a full tank of fuel. I had to drain the tank, the fuel pump was clogged up to where you could here the motor engage but no fuel would come out. we took the pump off, hooked up fuel lines to both ends and poured carb. cleaner in there and let it sit o/n. straight wired the pump and hit some power to it and it worked. i think we tried to put the FI’s back in the same spot. we tore them completely apart/disassembled. drew pic. of how it went together.

    @baitwormII

    How did you clean them? FI cleaner or? You made sure you got the injectors off and put them back on the same cylinder etc.

    The reason I ask is I have a 99 Evinrude 150 ficht that has been great for me. But I have noticed it is getting hard to start and also getting out of the hole. I’m thinking the FI need a good cleaning…

    Thanks for the info.

    the dealer told me that these injectors were 660.00 each, theres 6 of’em!!!
    I took these things completely apart, cleaned them and put them back together. It ran like new!

    The ETEC injector is nothing like the ficht injector. I will be posting a ETEC injector soon to show the difference between the two injectors.

  14. thirdclass2006 says:

    The FITCH injectors originally had casings made of plastic. Needless to say, they didn’t last long under the pressure.
    The E-Tec is a remake of this same technology.
